Karen finished work on Friday. We went to an NCT course on breast feeding on Friday night so she was exhausted by the time we got home. I thought it was really useful but Karen had covered quite a lot of it in her Parent Craft course.
On Saturday we went to get our travel system for the baby from The Baby in Manchester.
We went for the Quinny Buzz and Maxi Cosi Cabrio Fix car seat. The car seat came out on top in a number of safety tests for newborn car seats which is why we chose it.
Karen says I chose the Buzz because it automatically opens with a pneumatic strut which makes it a gadget! She has this strange idea that I like gadgets, I wonder why! When the baby gets older, the carry cot can be replaced by a seat which can face forwards or backwards. That’s the main reason I wanted to get it, so we can see the baby as we push her round. I spent most of Saturday afternoon working out how it all went together with the almost non-existent instructions that came with it.
Sunday was more relaxing, we went out for lunch and had a quiet afternoon and evening. Karen has quite a lot planned for her first week on maternity leave but still plans on taking it easy.
